Yemen’s Huthi rebels on Wednesday accused the United States of carrying out airstrikes in Hodeida province, resulting in the deaths of four people.

The Huthi health ministry’s spokesman, Anees Alasbahi, updated the casualty toll, initially reported as three, following an overnight attack on the Water Management building.

“The casualty toll of the American aggression targeting the Water Management building in… Hodeida governorate… rose to four martyrs and three wounded,” said Alasbahi.

The airstrikes reportedly targeted areas controlled by the Iran-backed rebels, including vital infrastructure in Hodeida and other regions like Hajjah and Saada.

Although the United States has not officially confirmed responsibility for the attacks, President Donald Trump has expressed his intent to continue strikes against the Huthis until they cease threatening shipping routes.

US President Donald Trump vowed, “Attacks on Yemen’s Huthis would continue until they are no longer a threat to shipping.”

The Huthis, for their part, claimed responsibility for recent attacks targeting US military vessels, including the USS Harry S. Truman.

Meanwhile, the United States is reportedly increasing its military presence in the region with two aircraft carriers deployed to ensure stability and deter further aggression.

The attacks have intensified since Washington began its campaign against the Huthis on March 15, following threats to disrupt key maritime shipping lanes.
