The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced plans to deport 18 more Nigerians deemed among the “worst-of-the-worst” criminal immigrants, bringing the total targeted for removal to 97.

According to the DHS website on Monday, the new additions are part of an ongoing enforcement campaign against criminal foreign nationals. The individuals on the latest list were mostly involved in wire fraud, mail fraud, and identity theft.

A DHS statement said the arrests are part of a nationwide crackdown led by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). “Under Secretary Noem’s leadership, DHS and ICE personnel are fulfilling President Trump’s promise by carrying out mass deportations, starting with the worst of the worst,” the statement added.

The Nigerians named include Oluwaseyanu Akinola Afolabi, Olugbeminiyi Aderibigbe, Benjamin Ifebajo, Obinwanne Okeke, Kolawole Aminu, Oluwadamilola Olufunsho Ojo, Franklin Ibeabuchi, Alex Afolabi Ogunshakin, Joshua Ineh, Stephen Oseghale, Eghosa Obaretin, Adesina Surajudeen Lasisi, Ibrahim Ijaoba, Azeez Yinusa, Charles Akabuogu, Kelechi Umeh, Lotenna Chisom Umeadi, Donald Ehie, and Chukwudi Kingsley Kalu.

The announcement underscores the Trump administration’s strict approach to criminal and illegal immigration, with Nigerians among those most affected by the enforcement drive.
