US Launches Fresh Strikes on Iran as Tehran Claims Attacks on American Bases

The United States has launched another round of strikes on Iran, targeting military sites along the country’s southern coast and near the Strait of Hormuz, as tensions rise between the two countries despite a fragile ceasefire.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) said the operation involved fighter jets, drones and naval forces, hitting dozens of military targets.

The attacks came alongside Washington’s decision to resume a naval blockade on Iranian ports, causing global oil prices to rise over fears of supply disruptions.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed it responded with attacks on US military facilities in Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan, saying it damaged American bases and equipment.

Jordan’s military also reported intercepting three Iranian ballistic missiles that entered its airspace.

The latest escalation follows a ceasefire agreement between Washington and Tehran aimed at ending the conflict that began after Israeli and US strikes on Iran.

Both sides have accused each other of breaking the deal.

US President Donald Trump warned that American strikes would continue until he decides otherwise, adding that future targets could include Iran’s energy infrastructure.

The renewed confrontation has raised concerns over global energy security, with oil prices climbing as Iran warned it could disrupt export routes through the Strait of Hormuz, a key channel for international oil shipments.
