Former Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Solomon Dalung, has declared that President Bola Tinubu will lose the 2027 presidential election, even if his son, Seyi Tinubu, is appointed Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Speaking in an interview on New Central on Friday, Dalung accused the Tinubu administration of waging war against Nigerians and weaponising poverty, hunger, and hardship.

He said the only way forward is for opposition leaders to unite under the coalition led by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next election.

“Nigerians should buckle up for 2027 because the battle line has been drawn. The government of President Bola Tinubu has declared war against the Nigerian people. The government has weaponised poverty, hunger, and hardship, and has popularised corruption, impunity, and injustice,” he said.

He insisted that even if the president’s relatives occupy sensitive positions, it won’t stop his defeat.

“Like I promised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, even if the 36 state governors defect to the APC and he appoints his son, Seyi Tinubu, as the chairman of INEC maybe he’ll even appoint his wife the Chief Justice of Nigeria he will still be defeated in 2027,” Dalung added.
