Tinubu Marks Wife Oluremi’s 66th Birthday With Heartfelt Tribute

President Bola Tinubu has celebrated his wife, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, on her 66th birthday, describing her as his “truest friend and confidante” and praising her for her patience, courage, compassion and unwavering support throughout their years together.

The President shared the birthday tribute on Monday through his verified X account, reflecting on his relationship with the First Lady and the role she has played in his personal and family life.

Tinubu described Oluremi as a woman who had remained by his side through different stages of his life, sharing his burdens, offering counsel and providing emotional and spiritual support during challenging periods.

“Today, I celebrate the woman who has walked beside me with patience, grace and uncommon courage. Àwọn àgbà sọ pé, ‘Ìyàwó rere ni adé ọkọ rẹ̀.’ A good wife is her husband’s crown,” he wrote.

The President said his wife had demonstrated the qualities traditionally associated with a virtuous woman, describing her as a source of strength and understanding throughout their marriage.

He recalled how Oluremi stood by him during difficult moments, saying she often understood his concerns even when he struggled to express them.

“In difficult times, when the future was uncertain, you stayed calm beside me and prayed with me,” Tinubu stated.

The President also described Oluremi as someone who was willing to give him honest advice, regardless of whether the message was difficult to hear.

“I call you my truest friend and confidante because you speak the truth plainly, even on the days I would rather not hear it,” he said.

Tinubu further praised the First Lady for her role in raising their children and grandchildren, saying her commitment to faith, kindness and family values had left a lasting impact on the household.

“Our home bears the lasting imprint of your devotion. Our children and grandchildren have grown beneath the shelter of your prayers.

They carry your values of faith and kindness wherever life takes them,” he said.

The President also highlighted Oluremi’s humanitarian activities, particularly her work through the New Era Foundation and the Renewed Hope Initiative.

He said her humanitarian efforts had touched the lives of young people, widows, elderly citizens and women farmers across the country.

“Nigerians know you for your compassion, kindness, generosity of spirit and steadfast faith. I have watched you touch lives quietly and consistently, offering hope and support to those in need,” Tinubu said.

He also acknowledged her advocacy on issues affecting people living with tuberculosis and other diseases, describing her as a committed advocate for vulnerable members of society.

According to the President, Oluremi’s humanitarian work has not been limited by ethnic, regional or religious considerations.

“For you, compassion has never recognised the boundaries of tribe, region or religion,” he said.
Reflecting on their years together, Tinubu said the couple had faced difficult decisions and made sacrifices together, experiences which he said had strengthened their relationship.

He recalled the long discussions they had held over difficult choices and the private sacrifices they made throughout their journey together.

“Laughter and prayer carried us through many of them,” he added.

The President concluded his tribute by expressing his affection for the First Lady and saying he would choose the same path that brought them together if he had the opportunity to relive his life.

“If life returned me to the beginning, I would choose the same road that led me to you. Through every mile, my heart has always remained at home with you,” Tinubu said.

He wished Oluremi many more years of good health, happiness and fulfilment as she marked her 66th birthday.
