Police Probe Death of 60-Year-Old Man at Jigawa Hotel

The Jigawa State Police Command has opened an investigation into the death of a 60-year-old man who reportedly collapsed at a hotel in Dutse after checking in with a 20-year-old woman.

Police spokesperson SP Lawan Shiisu Adam said the incident occurred at a hotel in the state capital.

According to preliminary reports, the man and the woman checked into the hotel, after which he ordered a meal.

Shortly afterward, the man reportedly developed a medical emergency and began struggling to breathe.

Hotel staff alerted the police, and officers from the Yalwawa Division responded to the scene before rushing him to the General Hospital in Dutse, where doctors confirmed his death.

During a search of the hotel room, investigators recovered food items, drinks, a suspected sexual enhancement substance and other personal belongings.

The items have been taken as part of the ongoing investigation.

The police said the man’s body was later released to his family for burial at their request.

The 20-year-old woman who was with him at the time is cooperating with investigators and providing relevant information.

Authorities have urged the public to avoid spreading unverified reports, assuring residents that a thorough investigation will determine the exact cause and circumstances of the man’s death.
