Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk and several teammates gathered in Portugal on Saturday to bid farewell to Diogo Jota and his brother, André Silva, who died in a car crash in Zamora, Spain.

KoikiMedia reported that the accident occurred early Thursday morning when the Lamborghini they were in veered off the road, claiming both their lives.

Jota, aged 28, was known for his sharp instincts, tenacity, and versatility on the pitch for both Liverpool and the Portuguese national team.

His death came just 11 days after marrying his longtime partner, Rute Cardoso. They had three young children together.
