Osimhen Demands More From Galatasaray After Disappointing Draw

Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has urged his teammates to raise their performance levels and show greater determination after the Turkish champions were held to a 2-2 draw by Çorum in their opening Super Lig match.

The Nigerian striker was Galatasaray’s standout player, scoring both goals as the defending champions were unable to secure victory at home.

Speaking after the match, Osimhen acknowledged that the new season would be challenging, particularly with Galatasaray preparing to compete in the UEFA Champions League.

The 26-year-old called on his teammates to work harder, give their maximum effort and build momentum before their European campaign begins.

Osimhen also praised the club’s supporters for their continued backing, stressing that the team must respond with a stronger fighting spirit.

The striker has continued to attract interest from clubs outside Turkey, with Premier League side Arsenal and Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal reportedly monitoring his situation.

Despite the transfer speculation, Osimhen remains focused on helping Galatasaray improve and challenge on multiple fronts this season.

The draw means Galatasaray will be looking to quickly correct their defensive and tactical shortcomings before their next league fixture.

The club will hope Osimhen’s goalscoring form continues to provide a major boost as they target another successful domestic campaign and a strong run in Europe.

Galatasaray will have another opportunity to record their first league victory when they travel to face Erzurumspor on August 21.
