Two of the injured are reported to be in serious condition.
Israeli police described the incident as a suspected terrorist attack and said they killed one of the alleged attackers after a manhunt.
Authorities identified the suspect as a Palestinian citizen of Israel from the nearby city of Tayibe and are searching for possible accomplices.
The shooting reportedly began near a gas station in the Kochav Yair area, close to the occupied West Bank, before spreading to nearby towns. Security forces have launched operations in Tayibe and surrounding communities.
Hamas praised the attack as a “heroic” operation but did not claim responsibility.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said it was assessing the situation.
