Okocha, Portable Set for Explosive Boxing Rematch in Lagos

Nollywood actor Charles Okocha and street-pop singer Portable will face each other once again in the boxing ring today at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The bout, titled “Unfinished Business,” is a rematch of their controversial first meeting, which Okocha claims was unfairly awarded to Portable.

Ahead of the fight, both men exchanged heated words during promotional events and the final weigh-in.
Okocha expressed confidence in his chances, saying the contest would be settled in the ring rather than through pre-fight boasts.

Portable, meanwhile, insisted he remains the superior fighter and promised another victory.

Promoter Dr. Ezekiel Adamu said the rematch was arranged after Okocha activated a rematch clause following his dissatisfaction with the outcome of their first encounter.

He added that the rivalry has attracted significant online attention and helped boost interest in Nigerian boxing.

The event will also feature an influencer boxing clash between Mr Real and Idowest, alongside several professional fights involving local and international boxers.

Adamu revealed that two brand-new electric vehicles have been donated as prizes for the winners of the Okocha-Portable and Mr Real-Idowest fights.

He added that the event aims to promote boxing while showcasing Nigerian talent to a wider audience.
