The Youth Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Niger State, Shitu Adamu Evuti, has officially dumped the party for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In a resignation letter dated 18th July 2025 and addressed to the PDP Chairman in Evuti/Kpada Ward, Lapai Local Government Area, Evuti blamed unresolved internal crises at the national level for his decision to quit.
“I wish to formally tender my resignation from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), effective immediately,” the letter read.
He expressed appreciation to the people of Evuti/Kpada Ward, Lapai LGA, and the entire Niger South Senatorial District for their support and trust over the years.
Evuti also thanked the PDP for the opportunities it offered him, including his 2019 candidacy for the Niger State House of Assembly and his appointment as State Youth Leader in 2023.
He noted that the decision to resign followed wide consultations with constituents, political associates, and relevant stakeholders.
Evuti said he would continue his political journey under the ADC, which he described as a progressive and credible alternative.
“To the PDP family, I humbly seek forgiveness from anyone I may have offended during my time in the party. Personally, I bear no grudges and have forgiven anyone who may have wronged me,” he added.
