A middle aged woman whose identity is yet to be ascertain has been shot dead by unknown gunmen in Nigeria’s Ekiti State.
The incident happened at a junction close to the Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti Continuing Education Center, off, NTA road, Ado Ekiti, the state capital.
The incident reportedly happened just before 7 am on Saturday.
According to witnesses, the gunmen came on a bike and attempted to collect the bag of the woman who was standing by the road.
It was gathered that in the process of trying to resist the attempt to take her bag, the assailants shot her dead and rode off.
Police could not be reached for comments.
