Man Arrested for Allegedly Killing Father in Benue Family Dispute

A man, Terfa Nyikwagh, has been arrested by the Benue State Police Command for allegedly killing his father during a family disagreement in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of the state.

The incident, which reportedly occurred on July 24, was brought to the attention of the police by a traditional ruler in the community.

According to sources, the dispute was linked to circumstances surrounding the death of the suspect’s brother, Ternenge Uwuh.

The disagreement allegedly escalated into a violent confrontation between Terfa and his father, Nyikwagh Abor.

During the altercation, Terfa is accused of attacking his father with an axe, causing injuries that proved fatal.

Following the report, police officers from the Katsina-Ala Division moved to the scene and arrested the suspect without incident.

The deceased’s body was later taken to the Gondozua Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination.

Police said the suspect remains in custody as investigations continue.

He is expected to be charged to court once the investigation is completed and appropriate charges are filed.
