The Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Taskforce on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, arrested 43 suspects during a coordinated cleanup operation in the Agidingbi area of Ikeja.
The raid, part of the state’s ongoing crackdown on illegal activities, covered several locations including the Alausa Central Business District (CBD), NERDC Road by the Africa Shrine, Alhaja Ashabi Cole Street, and other parts of Agidingbi.
Security operatives had earlier identified these areas as hideouts for suspected criminals.
During the operation, 34 men and 9 women were apprehended in possession of substances suspected to be Indian hemp, codeine, and other narcotics.
The taskforce confirmed that the suspects will be prosecuted according to existing laws.
It also reaffirmed its commitment to keeping public spaces across the state safe and free from criminal elements.
