Hassan Rilwan, the Special Adviser to the Governor of Kaduna State, has resigned from his position, ending a six-year stint in government which he described as a journey of “learning, loyalty, and legacy.”

In a statement released on Monday, Rilwan expressed gratitude to former Governor Nasir El-Rufai, current Governor Senator Uba Sani, and Hajiya Asia Mohammad Ahmad for their support and mentorship throughout his public service.

Rilwan, who began his government career under El-Rufai, said his decision to resign was voluntary and followed a period of personal reflection.

He praised El-Rufai for shaping his political ideals and offering him the platform to serve.

“My reasons for joining the Kaduna State Government were threefold: to serve the people, learn from Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, and work closely with him to earn his confidence,” he stated.

“Let’s assume the whole world sees him as a villain — to me, he is a saint. Mallam, regardless, you have my utmost respect. In your own words — my loyalty and fidelity to you is permanent, unyielding, and pensionable.”

Rilwan also acknowledged Governor Uba Sani for appointing him Special Adviser, describing it as a major milestone in his political journey.

“I am proud to assert that I never for once floundered or betrayed the fiduciary responsibility entrusted to me. I will always cherish this experience,” he added.

He paid special tribute to Hajiya Asia Mohammad Ahmad, whom he described as a mother figure, crediting her honesty and guidance for much of his success.

Outside his official duties, Rilwan also pointed to his involvement in grassroots politics, especially through the Sabon Gari Uba Sani Frontiers, where he said he played a key role in securing electoral victory for the governor.
