Italian goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has joined Juventus from Tottenham Hotspur on a one-year loan deal, with the Italian club having an option to make the transfer permanent.
The 29-year-old Italy international is expected to become Juventus’ first-choice goalkeeper, replacing Michele Di Gregorio.
Juventus will compete in the Europa League this season after failing to qualify for the Champions League.
Announcing the signing, Juventus welcomed Vicario to Turin, describing him as the latest addition to the club’s squad.
Vicario’s move to Juventus comes after he lost his starting position at Tottenham towards the end of last season. Antonin Kinsky replaced him as first choice under manager Roberto De Zerbi as Spurs narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League.
Vicario joined Tottenham in 2023 from Empoli after previously playing for Udinese, Venezia, Perugia and Cagliari.
During his time with Tottenham, he made 117 appearances and recorded 29 clean sheets. He also played an important role in the club’s Europa League triumph in 2025.
The move to Juventus gives Vicario an opportunity to return to regular first-team football while strengthening the Italian club’s goalkeeping department ahead of the new Serie A campaign.
The move also gives Vicario the chance to return to Italy and compete regularly at the highest level, while Juventus will hope his experience in both Serie A and the Premier League can strengthen the team as it prepares for domestic and European competition.
