No fewer than thirty persons were reportedly killed in a fuel tanker explosion along Agaie-Bida road in Niger State on Sunday morning, a local news outlet reported.
The tanker collided with a trailer loaded with cattle heading towards Lagos State from Wudil, Kano State, according to Daily Post news agency.
Abdullahi Arah, Director General of Niger State Emergency Management Agency, NSEMA, who confirmed the incident, said 30 bodies had been recovered from the scene.
Arah added that his team were still at the scene of the incident, conducting search and response operations as there were more bodies trapped inside the trucks.
