Mohammad Barde, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in Gombe State’s 2023 governorship election, has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Barde, who finished second to Governor Inuwa Yahaya in the election, said his move to ADC is part of his preparations for the 2027 general elections.

After validating his membership, he criticised the prevailing insecurity and poor infrastructure in Gombe State and across Nigeria, stating that the ADC is committed to tackling these challenges.

He expressed confidence in the party’s ability to drive positive change, emphasising its focus on inclusive leadership and equal opportunities for all.

Barde also highlighted ADC’s plan to conduct state congresses and a national convention in February 2026, urging members to revalidate their membership and mobilise new supporters ahead of the events.
