Facebook Users Report Widespread Desktop Access Problems

Image

Thousands of Facebook users reported difficulties accessing the platform on Sunday after encountering error messages indicating that their accounts were temporarily unavailable due to a site issue.

Many users trying to access Facebook through a web browser received a notice stating that the problem was expected to be resolved shortly and advising them to try again later.

Outage-tracking website Downdetector recorded a surge in reports shortly before 9 a.m., with most complaints linked to website access, login difficulties, and issues with the news feed.

Several affected users turned to social media platform X to share their experiences and confirm that others were facing similar problems.

Many reported that while the desktop version of Facebook was inaccessible, the mobile app continued to function normally.

Reports from online forums suggested that the disruption affected users in multiple countries, prompting widespread searches for information about a possible Facebook outage.

As of the time of reporting, Meta, Facebook’s parent company, had not released an official statement explaining the cause of the issue.
