Newly nominated Defence Minister, General Christopher Musa (rtd), has vowed to safeguard Nigeria amid rising insecurity across the country.

Musa made the commitment on Wednesday during his screening at the Senate chamber of the National Assembly.

Koikimedia reports that President Bola Tinubu nominated Musa on Tuesday to replace Badaru Mohammed, who resigned reportedly due to health reasons.

During the screening, Musa said, “I pledge to do my best to ensure that Nigeria is secure and safe. We need the support of every Nigerian, working together as a team, because this will require a collective effort.

“The enemies we are facing are evil forces with no regard for human lives, and if we do not unite, we will allow them to continue their destructive acts.”
