Chelsea have completed the signing of French defender Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace in a deal worth £52 million.
The 26-year-old centre-back has signed a long-term contract until 2032, becoming Chelsea’s third signing of the summer transfer window.
Lacroix joined Crystal Palace from Wolfsburg in 2024 and quickly became a key player for the club.
He made 55 appearances last season and played an important role in Palace’s UEFA Conference League triumph, helping the club secure its first major European trophy.
Chelsea targeted the French international as part of efforts to strengthen their defence ahead of the new season under manager Xabi Alonso.
The club believes his experience, leadership, and defensive qualities will bolster the squad.
Lacroix joins Morgan Rogers and Marco Palestra among Chelsea’s summer arrivals as the Blues continue to rebuild following a disappointing campaign that saw them finish 10th in the Premier League.
