Nigeria – Lagos State, A deaf pedestrian lost his life after two Suzuki mini-commercial buses (Korope) collided on Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, inward Maryland, Lagos.
Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Transportation, Sola Giwa, confirmed the incident in a statement by LASTMA’s Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment, Taofiq Adebayo, on Sunday.
According to the statement, the accident happened near Temac Filling Station while the pedestrian was waiting at a designated bus stop.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the fully loaded Suzuki commercial bus lost control as a result of over speeding and hit a stationed Suzuki commercial bus which resulted to the death of an innocent pedestrian (a deaf and dumb) who was waiting at a designated bus stop,” Giwa said.
LASTMA operatives quickly arrived at the scene to secure the area in line with United Nations Response Time (UNRT) standards.
