Tver regional governor Vitaly Korolev said on Telegram that experts had concluded the blast was caused by a household gas explosion.

A gas explosion in an apartment building in the western Russian city of Tver killed one person early Tuesday, regional authorities said, after initially attributing the incident to a Ukrainian drone attack.
Tver regional governor Vitaly Korolev said on Telegram that experts had concluded the blast was caused by a household gas explosion.
He explained that the incident was first mistaken for falling drone debris because air defence measures were being carried out in the region at the time.
Household fires and gas-related accidents are relatively common across Russia.
Russia’s defence ministry said Ukrainian drones were shot down overnight in about 20 regions, including six over Tver.
Last month, debris from a Ukrainian drone sparked a fire in an apartment building in Tver a city about 180 kilometres (110 miles) from Moscow injuring seven people.
