A Federal High Court in Abuja has issued a restraining order barring all parties involved in the legal dispute between Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan and Senate President Godswill Akpabio from making public statements or granting press interviews on the matter.

The ruling, delivered on Friday by Justice Binta Nyako, followed complaints that the plaintiff, Akpoti-Uduaghan, had been making television appearances to discuss the ongoing case.

During the court session, Kehinde Ogunwumiju (SAN), counsel to Akpabio, informed the judge that his client was concerned about the plaintiff’s public commentary, arguing that such actions could influence public perception and undermine the legal process.

In response, Justice Nyako issued a directive that all parties and their legal representatives must refrain from discussing the case with the media until further notice.

The judge further prohibited the live streaming of court proceedings on social media, warning that any attempt to breach the court’s directive would be met with consequences.
