The ranking was highlighted by Nigerian music news outlet The Debut Hub, which reported that Burna Boy reclaimed the top spot based on Chartmasters’ latest global sales and streaming figures.

Equivalent Album Sales is a music industry metric that combines traditional album purchases, digital downloads, single sales, and streaming activity into a single measure of commercial success.

According to Chartmasters, Burna Boy’s total sales figure reflects strong performance across physical and digital music sales as well as streaming platforms worldwide.

The Port Harcourt-born singer rose to global prominence with his 2018 hit song Ye and has since released several successful projects, including African Giant and Love, Damini.

He has also gained international recognition through sold-out concerts and major performances across the world.
