Atiku, Obi, Kwankwaso Are Grandstanding – APC

The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Felix Morka, has accused African Democratic Congress presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party’s Peter Obi and his running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, of grandstanding ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Morka made the comment during an interview on TVC’s Beyond The Headlines, where he dismissed Kwankwaso’s claim of offering Nigerians a “new direction.”

According to the APC spokesman, Kwankwaso, a former Kano State governor, is part of the political establishment responsible for the challenges confronting the country.

“Kwankwaso, a new direction to where? And I will offer an answer: a new direction to nowhere,” Morka said.

He argued that the 2027 election should not be reduced to the use of political slogans, stressing that Kwankwaso had been part of Nigeria’s political establishment for years.

“He has been and remains a part and parcel of the Nigerian establishment, so whatever is going on today, Kwankwaso was a frontline contributor to the challenges that we are facing today,” he added.

Morka also criticised Atiku, Obi and other opposition figures, accusing them of using political rhetoric to grandstand before Nigerians.

“When men like Atiku, Kwankwaso, Peter Obi, and some of these elements of the opposition come out to grandstand, I don’t need to say much because I think that Nigerians understand what they are up to,” he said.

He further argued that Nigeria’s challenges were rooted in years of poor governance under both military and civilian administrations.

“Nigerians know that this country, over generations, was severely misgoverned, not just by the military dictatorship but by Democrats who wielded authority in this country; they didn’t serve the country well and Nigerians know that,” Morka said.
