KATSINA, Nigeria – At least seven persons were reportedly killed in a fresh attack by terrorists locally dubbed as bandits in Nigeria.
The attack which occurred on Saturday night, in Mai Dabino village, in the Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State, saw the abduction of an unspecified number of persons mostly women and children who have been taken to a nearby forest, a local said.
The eyewitness who pleaded anonymity said that the assailants operated for about three hours after invading the village at about 10:00 pm on Saturday, shooting sporadically to scare the residents.
He said that those killed by the assailants were set ablaze.
The terrorists armed with sophisticated weapons are said to have also burnt down several houses, and shops including motor vehicles worth millions of Naira belonging to the residents during the operation.
Katsina State Police Command could not be reached for comments.
