LASEPA Seals Church, Hotels, Nightclub, 9 Others Over Environmental Breaches

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has sealed 12 establishments across parts of the state over alleged persistent breaches of environmental regulations.

The affected establishments include a church, hotels, lounges, a nightclub and other businesses located in Ogba, Idimu-Ikota, Ejigbo, LASU-Iba Road, Igando and Agodo-Egbe areas of the state.

LASEPA disclosed this in a statement posted on its official X account on Wednesday, stating that the enforcement operation was carried out on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.

According to the agency, the establishments were shut despite previous warnings, abatement notices and opportunities given to their operators to comply with environmental requirements.

The enforcement action, LASEPA said, was carried out in accordance with directives from the Lagos State Government aimed at ensuring compliance with environmental laws and protecting public health.

The agency added that the exercise was also intended to promote a cleaner, healthier and safer environment for residents.

Among the establishments sealed was Thrillz Lounge on Odusanmi Street, Ogba, which was shut over alleged noise pollution and failure to comply with LASEPA directives.

Feixiang Plastic, located along LASU-Ojo Road at Oko Filling Bus Stop, was also sealed for non-compliance with the agency’s directives.

Marvel Hotel & Suites at Chrisbee Crescent, BRT Bus Stop, Igando, was shut over alleged noise pollution and non-compliance.

Keviz Hotel & Suites, located on Councilor Ajayi Street, Obadore Bus Stop, LASU-Iba Road, was sealed over alleged obstruction of LASEPA officials and non-compliance with its directives.

DSN Hotel & Suites on Benson Onyeacholen Street, O’Mark Bus Stop, LASU-Igando Road, was also sealed for non-compliance.

Rudaj Vegetable Oil on Tanimowo Street, Ologufe Bus Stop, Igando Road, was among the businesses affected by the enforcement action.

The Celestial Church of Christ, Aduragbemi Parish, located on Adetola Buhari Street, Okerube Bus Stop, Ikotun, was sealed over alleged noise pollution and non-compliance with LASEPA directives.

Limas, situated on Aro-Oloye Street, off Abaranje Road, Abaranje, Ikotun, was also shut for non-compliance.

Nico Hotel & Suites at Ayawo Close, NEPA Bus Stop, Egbe-Isolo Road, Ejigbo, was sealed for allegedly failing to comply with the agency’s directives.

Kobo Night Club on Abanishe Street, off Hostel Road, Agodo-Egbe, was sealed over alleged noise pollution and non-compliance.

Master Furniture on Coleman Street, Pao Bus Stop, Idimu-Ikota Road, was also affected for non-compliance.

Nikky’s Executive Bar & Lounge, located on Governor’s Road, Ikotun, was sealed for allegedly failing to comply with environmental directives.

Speaking on the enforcement exercise, the General Manager of LASEPA, Dr Babatunde Ajayi, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to protecting public health and preserving the environment across Lagos State.

Ajayi urged business owners, facility operators, religious organisations, scrap dealers and residents to adopt environmentally responsible practices and obtain all necessary permits and approvals.

He also called on operators to comply with applicable environmental regulations and cooperate with LASEPA in its efforts to create a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable environment across the state.

The agency said it would continue to enforce environmental regulations against establishments found violating the state’s environmental laws.
