2027: Ondo APC Leaders Pledge One Million Votes for Tinubu

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State have pledged to mobilise one million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The commitment was made during an endorsement rally organised in Akure by the Emerging Political Platform (EPP), a support group backing Tinubu’s bid for another term in office.

Speaking at the event, the Ondo State APC Chairman, Babatunde Kolawole, urged party members to put aside personal interests and work together to secure victory for Tinubu and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections.

Kolawole said the party’s mobilisation efforts would not be limited to the presidential election, but would also cover APC candidates contesting seats in the Senate, House of Representatives and Ondo State House of Assembly.

He described the EPP as one of the groups supporting Tinubu’s re-election bid and said its endorsement demonstrated its commitment to the administration and the APC.

“It’s about the President. Not just the President, our candidates for Senate, for House of Reps, and for Assembly.

We must all do everything as a party to ensure that they come back victorious,” he said.

The APC chairman also dismissed suggestions of disagreement between Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

According to him, both leaders are working together in the interest of the party and President Tinubu.

“When you mention the Minister and the Governor, you make it look as if there’s an issue. They are brothers.

The Governor is the Governor, the leader of the party in the state. The Minister is also the Minister, working with Mr. President. They are one,” Kolawole said.

He also linked some of the state government’s ongoing projects in areas such as roads, healthcare and education to increased federal allocations to Ondo State.

Kolawole reiterated Governor Aiyedatiwa’s position against anti-party activities, warning that party members involved in such actions would face consequences.

“The Governor has said that he has zero tolerance for anti-party activities. He has said that there will be consequences for anybody that is involved in any form of anti-party activities in this state,” he said.

Also speaking, the Director-General of the Asiwaju Mandate Group in Ondo State, Olumuyiwa Asagunla, appealed to APC members to resolve their differences and unite ahead of the elections.

Asagunla said the party had completed its primaries and produced its candidates, making it necessary for members to focus on mobilisation and campaigning.

He urged members to stop identifying with different factions or individuals and instead work under the APC platform.
