Thai Authorities Reveal Five Penile Filler Procedures Before Nigerian Influencer’s Death

Thai health authorities have revealed that Nigerian-British businessman and social media influencer, Igho Ubiribo, underwent five penile filler procedures at a Bangkok clinic before his death, with the final 40cc injection administered on the day he died.

The Department of Health Service Support (DHSS), under Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health, disclosed this on Tuesday following an inspection of the clinic where the 43-year-old, known online as “Tiny,” “Denisi” and “Ego,” received his final treatment.

According to the DHSS, Ubiribo had been a regular patient at the clinic since 2024, undergoing four procedures between 2024 and 2025 before returning for a fifth treatment on March 5, 2026.

The clinic said the final procedure involved a single injection of 40cc of filler, despite the doctor recommending that the treatment be divided into two sessions. Ubiribo reportedly insisted on receiving the entire amount at once.

The clinic also said he signed consent forms before each procedure and reported no complications during follow-up care.

Later that day, Ubiribo reportedly lost consciousness after going for a massage. His wife informed medical staff that he had received the filler injection earlier that day.

Doctors at a private hospital in Bangkok’s Sukhumvit area suspected a blood clot and prepared to conduct a CT angiography. However, Ubiribo had no pulse by the time the scan was to be performed, and resuscitation efforts failed.

The clinic, located on Rama 1 Road in Bangkok’s Pathum Wan district, was inspected on September 7 by DHSS officials alongside Thailand’s Food and Drug Administration, following a directive from Public Health Minister Pattana Promphat.

DHSS Director-General Phuwadej Surakhot said the agency would continue gathering evidence before referring the case to Thailand’s Medical Council to determine whether there had been any professional misconduct.

No finding of malpractice has been announced.

The case had earlier been examined by a UK coroner, whose inquest linked Ubiribo’s death to a fatal pulmonary embolism caused by the procedure.

About 40 millilitres of a mixture containing hyaluronic acid and lidocaine were reportedly injected during the treatment. Ubiribo subsequently experienced chest pain and collapsed twice during a hotel massage session before being rushed to Sukhumvit Hospital.

He lost consciousness before doctors could complete the planned CT scan, while CPR lasting more than 100 minutes failed to revive him. A postmortem examination later found material in his lungs consistent with the injected filler.

Following his death, aesthetic medicine physician Dr Mobola Savage warned that non-surgical cosmetic procedures could still carry serious risks.

Savage said penile filler involves highly vascular tissue and should not be considered risk-free. She also clarified that the procedure is a non-surgical augmentation intended to increase girth, rather than conventional surgical enlargement.

Investigations in Thailand are ongoing as authorities assess whether the clinic and its practitioners complied with the required medical standards.
