JAMB Introduces Online O’Level Result Upload, Eliminates Need for CBT Centre Visits

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has launched a new online system that allows candidates seeking admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions through the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to verify and upload their O’Level results from the comfort of their homes.

The new service, which currently covers results issued by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), is aimed at reducing candidates’ dependence on Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres, especially during periods of heavy patronage.

Under the new system, JAMB will electronically verify candidates’ results directly with the relevant examination bodies before uploading the verified results to their JAMB profiles.

The Board, in a statement issued on Monday by its Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr Fabian Benjamin, said the initiative was introduced to make its services faster, safer and more convenient while eliminating difficulties associated with the traditional manual upload process.

JAMB explained that the system would help prevent problems such as misplaced or mixed-up certificates, submission of fraudulent or unverified results, and errors in manually entering subjects and grades.

Through the integration of JAMB’s e-Facility platform with examination bodies, candidates’ results can now be checked against official records before being uploaded to their profiles.

The Board said the initiative was part of its renewed focus on customer-friendly service delivery under its sixth Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, with technology being used to reduce unnecessary physical visits, queues and paperwork.

How Candidates Can Verify and Upload Their Results
Candidates are required to first obtain a result verification code through the designated result verification portal.

They must provide their National Identification Number (NIN), indicate the number of O’Level sittings, select the relevant examination body or bodies, and submit their email address and GSM number before making payment through the approved payment gateway.

After payment, candidates will enter their examination details, including examination number, examination series and examination year.

Once the result has been successfully verified, a Verification Code will be issued.
Candidates must then send “VERIFY” followed by the Verification Code to 55019 or 66019.

JAMB said the verified result would subsequently be uploaded, and candidates would receive a notification confirming the submission.

Candidates with two O’Level sittings should log into their JAMB e-Facility dashboard and select “2026 UTME O’Level Upload.”

After entering the Verification Code, the two verified results will appear, allowing candidates to select the required subjects.

According to JAMB, candidates must select at least five and no more than nine subjects, with each subject selected only once, before clicking “Apply the O’Level Results.”

A confirmation notification will be sent after the upload is successfully completed.

JAMB said the new service would be particularly beneficial when CBT centres are overcrowded, queues are long or candidates experience network-related difficulties.

The Board added that it would continue working with examination bodies and other government agencies to expand the use of technology, simplify its procedures and improve the overall experience for candidates.

The development represents another major step in JAMB’s digital transformation, shifting O’Level result verification and upload from a process requiring physical visits to a technology-driven system that enables candidates to complete the process remotely.
