2027: Ondo APC Leaders Declare Tinubu’s Re-election Non-Negotiable

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State have declared that President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 is “non-negotiable,” expressing confidence that the President will receive overwhelming support from voters across the state.

The party leaders, who are members of the Action Group within the APC, also dismissed reports of a crisis within the state chapter, insisting that there was no serious disagreement capable of affecting Tinubu’s electoral prospects in Ondo.

They made their position known on Monday in Owo during a meeting attended by party elders and other political stakeholders.

The gathering focused on strategies to mobilise grassroots support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The Coordinator of the Action Group in Owo and former Ondo State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Adekola Olawoye (SAN), described Tinubu’s re-election as a national responsibility that required unity and determination from party members.

Olawoye argued that the President needed more time to consolidate the policies and programmes of his administration, urging APC members to unite behind him.

He said the administration had recorded achievements in areas such as increased allocations to state governments, infrastructure development, student loans through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, local government autonomy and various social intervention programmes.

According to him, Ondo State has also benefited from the Federal Government through appointments and ongoing development projects.

Addressing reports about the revival of the Action Group, Olawoye explained that the organisation remained part of the progressive political movement that evolved from the original Action Group through the Alliance for Democracy, Action Congress, Action Congress of Nigeria and eventually the APC.

He maintained that political elders remained relevant in the party and would continue contributing to its activities.

Olawoye also dismissed reports of a political rift between Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

He said both politicians belonged to the same political party and were working towards the same objective of securing victory for President Tinubu in 2027.

“There is no rift between BTO and Aiyedatiwa because the two of them belong to the same party. Aiyedatiwa wants to deliver for the President, and BTO also wants to deliver for the President,” he said.

A former member of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Ajibola Adegoroye, said political leaders in Owo had already begun grassroots mobilisation across the various wards to secure strong support for Tinubu.

Adegoroye described Owo as a politically influential area and expressed confidence that the town and the wider Ondo State would give the President massive support in the 2027 election.

He said the mobilisation effort was aimed at securing what he described as 100 per cent support for Tinubu in Owo and across Ondo State.
