Late-Night Fire Engulfs Filling Station in Abuja

A major fire broke out late Thursday night at the AYM Shafa Filling Station in the Area 3 district of Abuja, causing panic among residents and motorists.

The fire started around 10:00 p.m. and was still burning at the time this report was filed. The cause of the incident has not yet been determined.

Firefighters from the Federal Fire Service quickly responded to the emergency and were working to contain the flames to stop them from spreading to nearby buildings and facilities.

The National Public Relations Officer of the Federal Fire Service, Paul Abraham, confirmed that emergency personnel had been deployed to the scene immediately after the outbreak.

According to him, firefighters were making every effort to bring the situation under control while ensuring the safety of residents and protecting surrounding properties.

Abraham expressed sympathy to those affected by the incident and reassured the public that the fire service was fully committed to managing the emergency.

“The Federal Fire Service sympathises with everyone affected by the fire at the AYM Shafa Petrol Station in Area 3, Abuja.

We understand the concern this incident has caused to residents, motorists, business owners, and the general public. The safety of lives and property remains our highest priority,” he said.

He added that firefighters were working tirelessly to contain the blaze and prevent further damage.

The agency also appealed to residents to remain calm and stay away from the area to allow emergency workers to carry out their duties without interference.

Motorists were advised to use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion around the affected location and cooperate with traffic officials and other emergency responders.

The Federal Fire Service said it would continue to provide updates as more verified information becomes available.

At the time of filing this report, no casualties had been officially confirmed, and investigations into the cause of the fire were ongoing.
