BREAKING: Reps Order Police to Produce Alleged Fake Agency Boss Within 48 Hours

The House of Representatives Committee investigating the activities of the controversial Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC) has directed the Inspector-General of Police to produce the organisation’s alleged Director-General, Adeyemi Adeniyi, before lawmakers within 48 hours.

The order was issued on Monday during a hearing at the National Assembly in Abuja.

Lawmakers are investigating how the PFIPC, which they say was never legally established, allegedly secured office space in the Federal Secretariat and received a ₦1.32 billion allocation in the 2026 budget.

Police told the committee that investigations began after petitions from the Office of the Chief of Staff to the President accused Adeyemi of falsely presenting himself as the Director-General of both the Presidential Economic Advisory Council and the PFIPC.

Authorities have already filed an eight-count criminal case against him before the Federal High Court.

Committee Chairman Yusuf Gagdi said Adeyemi’s appearance was necessary because the allegations involve the integrity of government institutions and public officials.

He added that lawmakers need clarification on key documents linked to the investigation.

The committee also revealed that investigators have identified about 29 documents suspected to be forged, including purported approvals from the State House and several federal government agencies.

Lawmakers said their investigation will continue and could lead to further action by relevant security agencies once a final report is submitted.
