Flying Eagles Arrive in Ivory Coast to Defend WAFU B U-20 Title

Nigeria’s U-20 national team, the Flying Eagles, have arrived in Ivory Coast ahead of the 2026 WAFU B U-20 Championship, where they will begin the defence of their regional title.

The team landed in Abidjan on Monday before travelling to Yamoussoukro, the host city for the tournament, where they are currently camped.

Nigeria will kick off their campaign against Ghana’s Black Satellites on Monday in a highly anticipated clash that mirrors the 2024 final, which the Flying Eagles won 2-1 to claim the championship.

Coached by Aliyu Zubairu, the team will also face Togo and Burkina Faso in Group B as they seek to retain the title.

The Flying Eagles are using the tournament as part of their preparations for upcoming continental competitions and will be aiming for another successful outing in the regional championship.
