Former General Evangelist of the Christ Apostolic Church, Prophet Samuel Abiara, has called on President Bola Tinubu to improve the welfare of Nigerian soldiers following the rescue of schoolchildren and teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
Abiara congratulated Governor Seyi Makinde on the successful operation that secured the victims’ release after 56 days in captivity.
He also commended the Federal Government’s efforts to address insecurity, describing the rescue as evidence of its determination to combat criminal activities.
The cleric stressed the need for better support for military personnel and the families of fallen soldiers.
He urged the government to increase salaries, allowances, and welfare packages for security personnel, saying improved conditions of service would strengthen morale and enhance their effectiveness in tackling banditry and terrorism.
He encouraged Nigerians not to lose faith in the country despite ongoing security challenges, expressing confidence that Nigeria would eventually overcome its current difficulties.
Abiara also praised Christians, Muslims, and traditional worshippers for uniting in prayers during the children’s captivity and welcomed the safe return of the victims.
He expressed optimism that ongoing security operations would continue to weaken criminal networks across the country.
