World record holder Tobi Amusan has booked her place in the 2026 Wanda Diamond League Final following a series of impressive performances in the women’s 100m hurdles this season.

The Nigerian sprint hurdler has earned 28 points from five Diamond League events, securing qualification for the season-ending championship scheduled to take place on September 4 and 5 in Brussels, Belgium.

Amusan currently occupies the second position in the Diamond League standings, behind American athlete Masai Russell, who leads with 32 points.

Both athletes will compete in the remaining Diamond League meetings in London, Lausanne, Silesia and Zurich before the final.

Russell holds the fastest women’s 100m hurdles time this year with 12.14 seconds, while Amusan’s season-best mark stands at 12.28 seconds, which she has achieved three times.

The two athletes are expected to renew their rivalry in Brussels, where Amusan will chase a fourth Diamond League title after winning three consecutive championships from 2021 to 2023.

Amusan remains the world record holder in the event after setting a remarkable 12.12-second record during her victory at the World Championships in Eugene four years ago.
