Oyedokun Family Expresses Gratitude to Security Agencies, Makes Emotional Appeal for Recovery of Deceased Relative

The Oyedokun family has issued an emotional open letter expressing gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the Federal Government, and Nigeria’s security agencies for the successful rescue of several kidnapping victims in Oyo State, while making a heartfelt appeal for the recovery and release of the remains of their late relative, Mr. Michael Olugbade Oyedokun.

In the letter, the family thanked President Tinubu for what they described as the unwavering efforts of the Federal Government and the dedication of the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Police Force, and other intelligence and security agencies whose coordinated operations led to the rescue of victims held in captivity.

According to the family, the successful rescue operation has brought renewed hope to many affected families and reaffirmed public confidence in the government’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and security of Nigerians.

Despite celebrating the freedom of the rescued victims, the Oyedokun family said they continue to live with profound grief following the death of their loved one, Mr. Michael Olugbade Oyedokun, who reportedly lost his life while in captivity.

The family explained that although the rescue mission was successful, the remains of the deceased have yet to be recovered and returned, preventing them from giving him a dignified burial in accordance with their faith, customs, and family traditions.

They noted that the inability to recover his body has prolonged their mourning and denied them the opportunity to find closure after the tragic incident.

In their appeal, the family respectfully called on President Tinubu to direct the appropriate security agencies to intensify efforts toward locating and recovering Mr. Oyedokun’s remains. They expressed confidence that the same determination and professionalism demonstrated during the rescue operation could also lead to the successful recovery of his body.

The family further emphasized that recovering the remains of the deceased is not only a humanitarian responsibility but also a matter of preserving human dignity, adding that every Nigerian deserves respect and honour, even in death.

They appealed for urgent and compassionate intervention, expressing hope that their loved one would soon be returned home so that he could be laid to rest with dignity and that the family could begin the difficult process of healing.

The letter concluded with prayers for continued wisdom, strength, and good health for President Tinubu as he leads the nation and expressed appreciation for the sacrifices made by the country’s security personnel in protecting lives and restoring peace.
