Super Eagles winger Moses Simon has thrown his support behind head coach Eric Chelle, praising the Franco-Malian tactician for his leadership and the unity he has brought to the national team.
Chelle, who is in the final year of his current contract, is reportedly close to agreeing a new deal with the Nigeria Football Federation and the National Sports Commission. The proposed extension would see him remain in charge of the Super Eagles as Nigeria pursues its long-term football ambitions.
Speaking on the coach’s impact, Simon said Chelle has earned the trust and commitment of the players through his strong relationship with the squad.
“Eric Chelle is a very good person and a great coach. He has done a fantastic job and brought everyone together. He is like a father to the players and always encourages us to give our best for the team,” Simon said.
The winger added that Chelle’s willingness to support and defend his players has inspired the squad to remain fully committed to the national cause.
Since taking charge, Chelle has helped rebuild confidence within the Super Eagles camp, with several players publicly backing his methods as the team continues preparations for upcoming international competitions.
