Anthony Joshua Says Challenges Have Strengthened Him Ahead of Ring Return

British-Nigerian heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua says the trials and setbacks he has faced throughout his career have made him stronger as he prepares to return to the ring against Albanian fighter Kristian Prenga in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on July 25.

Speaking to DAZN, Joshua said the difficulties he has experienced over the years have tested his character and strengthened his determination to keep competing at the highest level.

“I have been through many challenges in my career, but they have shown me how strong I am. Many people would have chosen a different path, but I am still here because I have big ambitions and remain focused on achieving more,” he said.

The upcoming bout comes 10 years after Joshua won his first world heavyweight title by defeating Charles Martin in April 2016.

The victory marked the beginning of a successful period that saw him become one of boxing’s biggest stars.

Now 36, Joshua says he remains fully committed to his career and is determined to return to the top of the heavyweight division.

“Ten years later, I’m still standing strong, in great condition, and fully focused on my goals,” he said.

Joshua boasts a professional record of 29 wins, four losses, and 26 knockouts.

Although he has enjoyed major successes, he has also experienced difficult moments, including defeats to Andy Ruiz Jr., Oleksandr Usyk, and Daniel Dubois.

Despite those setbacks, Joshua remains one of the most recognised names in world boxing.

He will face Prenga, who has a record of 20 wins, one defeat, and 20 knockouts, with a potential blockbuster clash against Tyson Fury expected later this year if both fighters win their upcoming contests.
