Sani made the remark while reacting to claims by an ADC chieftain, Umar Ardo, over alleged legal issues surrounding the registration of the NDC.

Former Kaduna Central senator, Shehu Sani, has said Nigerians should not blame President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) for any internal crisis affecting the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), linked to political realignments involving Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

Sani made the remark while reacting to claims by an ADC chieftain, Umar Ardo, over alleged legal issues surrounding the registration of the NDC.

Ardo, an official of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), had reportedly stated that the party is currently in court over alleged irregularities in its registration.

He claimed the party was registered without meeting required conditions but through a court order allegedly granted by a judge who previously served in Bayelsa State.

Sani, in a post on X, said Dr Umar Ardo of Adamawa State made the claims during an interview with an online platform, DCL.

He said Ardo categorically stated that the matter is already before the court over irregular registration of what he described as the “new bride” NDC.

Sani added that the situation reflects political consequences that come with party exits and realignments.

He likened the development to a political separation, saying Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso had moved on to a new political arrangement.

According to him, such abrupt political “divorces” often come with anger, pain, and consequences.

He added that in such situations, “the ex will irrationally hunt you.”

Sani concluded that Nigerians should not, at this stage, blame the President or the ruling party for internal opposition crises.
