In the town of Jebchit, three people were killed and seven injured when a residential building was destroyed

Israel’s attacks on southern Lebanon have killed at least nine people, according to the country’s National News Agency (NNA), despite a three-week extension of a United States-brokered “ceasefire” announced last week.

In the town of Jebchit, three people were killed and seven injured when a residential building was destroyed.

In Toul, four people were killed and six wounded, while in Harouf, two people were killed and a house was also destroyed.

Israeli forces have stepped up their strikes across southern Lebanon in recent days, with artillery shelling reported in Zawtar al-Sharqiyah, Yohmor al-Shaqif, and Bayt al-Sayyad.

In the past 24 hours alone, Israeli airstrikes have killed more than 20 people, including two families, two Lebanese army soldiers, and three paramedics. Over 70 others, including children, were wounded.

The Israeli military has also issued new evacuation warnings for 15 towns and villages in southern Lebanon, including Jebchit, Toul, al-Samanieh, Sahel al-Hnieh, Qlailah, Wadi Jilo, al-Kanisa, Kafr Jouz, Majdal Zoun, and Seddiqine.

Meanwhile, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said southern Lebanon could face a situation similar to Gaza, despite a temporary US-mediated ceasefire agreement reached with Hezbollah nearly two weeks ago and extended last week.
