The Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, David Oyedepo, has advised members of his congregation to give kidnappers his phone number if they are ever abducted, insisting that he has the spiritual authority to intervene and secure their release.
He made the statement during a church service at the Canaanland headquarters of the church in Ota, Ogun State, a sermon that has since gone viral on social media.
“Anybody that picks you, give them my number,” he told worshippers.
Oyedepo referenced past kidnapping incidents involving church members, including a case in which an abducted pastor was instructed to pass his phone to the kidnappers.
“I said, ‘In 24 hours, if you don’t release him, you are dead,’” he recalled, adding that the pastor was later freed.
He also shared another account, saying: “She said, ‘My father said I’m getting out of here latest by 7 a.m.’ They didn’t call. They started cutting themselves.”
The cleric emphasized that believers have spiritual authority over evil forces and should act in faith during crises.
“You have been raised far above the devil. If the church does not conquer these devils, God has left heaven,” he said.
