Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has insisted he will continue dancing, saying criticism of his hobby does not affect his work in office.

Known as “the dancing governor” for his energetic public displays, Adeleke said on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday that he dances to praise God and relax, stressing it does not interfere with his duties.

“I will keep dancing because I love to dance, I love to praise my God, and that doesn’t change anything. Everyone has their own way of relaxing. My hobby is to dance and praise my God. That doesn’t affect my work,” he said.

Adeleke, who left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Accord Party, confirmed his 2026 re-election bid under his new platform.

He said the move aims to protect his people-focused policies and ensure the continuity of his administration’s achievements.

“Thank you, Osun people. To ensure the long-term sustainability of our people-centred governance agenda beyond 2026, we have taken the bold step of moving to the Accord Party,” he said.

“With your continued backing, we will consolidate our achievements, expand the impact of good governance, and keep delivering the dividends of democracy to every community across Osun State.”
