Bolaji Abdullahi, National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is effectively dead, awaiting its obituary.
He made the remark on Saturday during the unveiling of the ADC Secretariat in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Abdullahi stated that the ADC is now the only viable opposition to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). “The question is no longer whether Kwarans want the APC; that has been answered—they don’t. The question now is whether we can convince them that ADC is the only alternative, and that is exactly what we will do in the coming elections,” he said.
Highlighting growing insecurity across Kwara communities, the former Sports Minister said the situation has crippled farming and disrupted rural livelihoods. “Our people can no longer farm safely. The government must do more to restore peace and ensure the safety of citizens,” he added.
Former Kwara State Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed described the unveiling of the ADC Secretariat as a new chapter in the state’s political landscape. “This marks the beginning of a new direction in our political experience. The ADC is poised to build a party that reflects the true aspirations of Kwarans,” he said.
