Publisher of Ovation Magazine, Dele Momodu, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), describing it as a “carcass” taken over by anti-democratic forces.
In his resignation letter, Momodu said the party had collapsed internally and no longer reflected its founding principles.
“My reason is simple and straightforward. Our party has been unarguably hijacked by antidemocratic forces, from within and outside, in broad daylight,” he wrote.
The former presidential aspirant said it was more honourable to abandon what he called the carcass of the PDP and join a new political movement.
He revealed that many former PDP members, including himself, are now aligning with the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
“The majority of us earnestly sign up with the new coalition party known as the African Democratic Congress (ADC),” he stated.
Momodu ended his letter with words of gratitude to his local party leaders, saying, “I will forever treasure the kind support you gave me at all times.”
