The Yoruba Self-Determination Movement (YSDM) has announced plans to host a major summit in London on Saturday, April 26, 2025, aimed at propelling the Yoruba Nation agitation into a new and decisive phase. The event, themed “What Next?”, is expected to produce concrete action plans for actualizing the long-standing goal of a peaceful exit from what organizers describe as the “Nigeria contraption.”
According to details from a summit flyer, the meeting will take place at Ark Studio, Ark Walworth Academy, Shorncliffe Road, London SE1 5UJ, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The summit will be convened under the banner of the Yoruba Self-Determination Movement (YSDM) and is set to address three critical issues: the growing insecurity in the Yoruba homeland, the upcoming mass rallies planned across Yorubaland and the diaspora, and actionable strategies to achieve sovereignty for the Yoruba people.

Key Yoruba Nation advocates expected to attend include Professor Banji Akintoye, the National Leader of YSDM; Chief Dr. Sunday Adeniyi Adeyemo (popularly known as Sunday Igboho); David Malomo, UK/Europe Coordinator; Kayode Emola, Deputy National Leader (Diaspora); Arakurin Seyi Olayode, Deputy Coordinator (UK/Europe); and Architect George Akinola, Deputy National Leader (Homeland).
This strategic summit follows significant international outreach efforts by the Yoruba Nation movement. In October 2024, Sunday Igboho submitted a petition to UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer on behalf of Prof. Akintoye, seeking support for the Yoruba people’s right to self-determination. While the details of the petition remain confidential, insiders revealed it centred around the Yoruba Nation agitation.
Igboho was joined during the petition delivery by several movement representatives, including Prophet Ologunoluwa (Diaspora Youth Leader), Fatai Ogunribido (Vice President of Ifeladun Apapo), Alhaja Adeyeye (General Secretary of Yoruba World Media), and Paul Odebiyi, a member of the Yoruba Nation Movement.
The movement continues to call for international recognition and backing for its pursuit of a sovereign Yoruba Nation, emphasizing a peaceful, legal, and diplomatic approach to self-determination.
