Two suspects have been arrested over the death of a policeman in northeast Nigeria, police said.
Ezekiel Kefas, 67, and Stephen Zabadi, 44, who hail from Wamsa Suwa Ward in Lamurde local government area of Adamawa State were nabbed on November 19, 2024 over the gruesome murder of a police officer identified as Ibrahim Maizabuwa, the state police command’s spokesman SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje said.
Nguroje said said the son of the deceased, Danlami Ibrahim Maizabuwa, who hails from Gombe State, reported the matter to the Adamawa State Police Command.
“Our investigation reveals that the deceased is a police officer and works in Gombe State. He visited his friend, Ezekiel Kefas, who resides at Wamsa Suwa. He was killed and buried in the community,” the police spokesman said.
“Those who killed him include Yakubu, Suleiman and Kilyobas. They beat him up with sticks to death.
“Yesterday, we went to the houses of those who killed, but we didn’t meet anyone of them.”
Nguroje added that the Commissioner of Police Morris Dankombo ordered for discreet investigation and prosecution of the suspects.
