JOHANNESBURG – A searching operation has been launched after four lions escaped from a national park in South Africa.
The lions escaped from Kruger National Park in Bushbuckridge in the Mpumalanga Province of the country on Sunday, an official said.
“The lions were spotted adjacent to the park. We are determined that we will get these lions,” Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency spokesperson Simphiwe Shungube said, noting that a team is on the ground trying to search for the lions by using drones, dogs and tracks.
Shungube advised the community to alert them and not try to catch the lions themselves.
“The community must rest assured that we are working around the clock to ensure the lions are located,” he added.
