A 20-year-old Brit has died in a horror fall while climbing in Spain on a path known as ‘The Monkey Bridge’.

The man was doing a dangerous hike on the Caminito Del Rey, about 70km inland from Malaga, when he tragically fell.

He was near the Puente del Mono, or the Monkey Bridge, part of the climb when he fell at about 11am on Wednesday.

The man was knocked unconscious with his companions alerting emergency services, news site Sur reports.

The Guardia Civil sent a mountain rescue team via a helicopter to the scene.

But on arrival, they found the man had died and paramedics could not revive him.

He had been doing a via ferrata climb, using steel fixtures, wires, and ladders bolted to a rock face to scramble up it.

The Caminito Del Rey is a famous climbing path known as one of the world’s scariest hikes.

Walkways are built around steep cliffs and high wire exercises that attract thrill seekers from around the world.

The wooden trail is five miles long and bolted into the cliff face of a hydroelectric gorge.

Caminito Del Rey was originally a solution for workers of the El Chorro power station to get to work through the steep gorge.

It was built in 1905 but was refurbished in 2015 and has become a tourist attraction.

At sections, it is 700 metres deep with the crumbling stone walls also hiding houses of people who lived in the gorge.

UK celebrity chefs Gordon Ramsay, Gino D’Acampo, and Fred Sirieix filmed part of their hit show ‘Gordon, Gino and Fred: Viva Espana! taking on the walk.

The climber’s death comes after a British influencer died after plunging 160ft from one of Spain’s highest bridges for a social media stunt.

He was said to have climbed 40 to 50 metres up the bridge Puente de Castilla-La Mancha without ropes or a harness when he fell.

Another Brit hiker died Spain after he vanished in the Pyrenees while climbing a 8,700ft peak.

The late hiker was understood to have been walking between the Lizara and Candanchu mountain refuges when he tragically died.
